In April 2015 we were looking for partners to contribute to for the first time since our inception. The program was simple, for every product we sold we would contribute a portion of the sale to a cause that helped animals. We weren't sure what or how, but we knew we wanted to do something, and so did our customers.
So we set out to connect with local charities and foundations in south Florida to find a partner. After speaking with several non-profit organizations one common factor was clear, they all needed quality food.
The birth of the Paw Squad came from a problem both ourselves and our customers felt. What's the impact of the portion of sales?
Was it a lot, did it even make a dent? We were donating thousands of pounds of food, sponsoring multiple adoption events, funding expensive training for guide dogs, and advocating for animal welfare. But what really was the impact? We knew what we were fiscally contributing, but what we didn't know what the real impact was. And that didn't feel right.
Thus the birth of the Paw Squad. A dedicated program with granular and dynamic goals that are precise and traceable.

In 2015 we were making large bulk donations that were static in nature. Today, we are going a step further with a better understanding of what our partners need and when they need it and distributing dynamic contributions based on what is needed.
Crowdfunding allows us to increase the size and length of the impact we make by creating a community with our customers, subscribers, and social followers. As an individual donor, your contribution is great but never really allows any momentum to build up allowing volunteers to get ahead.

At Paw Squad, all direct donations made through our direct donations option is 100% contributed to the cause and no amount is spent on admin, marketing, or for profit operational costs. This policy ensures that all direct donations are used appropriately and are distributed where the donor intended. We do however deduct the cost to process the credit card or other payment. These fees typically range from 3% - 5% of the donation.
The Paw Squad is not a charity, we do not claim charitable status, and cannot offer tax relief on any donations received. The Paw Squad is a way for Pop Your Pup to bring a community of existing clients and subscribers together as a bi-product of our for profit efforts to pursue a cause we are passionate about.
If you sign up for any of our Paw Squad programs, the answer is yes, you will be billed monthly until you cancel. If you make a one time donation you will not be billed again in the future.

For logistical reasons we have a select list of partners that we regularly contribute to but we are always looking to spread our impact. We encourage our members to recommend the organizations of their preference for us to contact to establish a network of regular contributions.

Paw Squad Fees include credit card processing fees & tools and applications fee needed to process the donation. These fees typically range from 7% - 10% of the donation. We do not extract any marketing expenses or staff expenses from direct donations.
At Paw Squad all products sold from our 100% donation collection is contributed to the organization chosen by the contributor after the costs for the raw materials to create the product, the costs for the labor to create the product, the costs to ship the product, and the processing fees. These fees typically range between 40% and 60% of the purchase price. We do not extract any marketing expenses from our donation product collection and only labor that is involved in the creation of the product is deducted from the donation.
